Homestead Window Treatments was founded by Mark and Laura Perel on the simple premise that a great room deserves a great window, and that getting there takes more than a catalog and a measuring tape.

When Mark and Laura opened Homestead in 2011, the plan was modest: a small studio offering the kind of personal, hand-finished window treatments they couldn't find when they were furnishing their own home. Long Island, it turned out, was hungry for it.

The studio has grown into three showrooms — Albertson, Huntington Station, and the Farmingdale gallery — and a workroom that handles everything from sheer linen drapes to oversized motorized shades for poolside walls of glass. What hasn't changed is the way we work: Mark or Laura is on every consultation, every estimate, every install plan. The same family that opened the door still answers the phone.

We are a small studio with strong opinions. These are the ones that show up in every project we take on, from a single bedroom roller shade to a full Hamptons house.

Designed in your home

Light moves. Rooms feel different at 8 AM than at 6 PM. We always design on site, with samples held against your actual walls.

Trends date a room. We pick fabrics, finishes, and hardware you'll still like in fifteen years, even when the rest of the house turns over.

Hunter Douglas Lifetime Guarantee plus our own installation standards. Treatments fail at the corners and the cords; we engineer around both.

Honest pricing

One line-item estimate, every option visible, no surprise charges at install. If a less expensive shade is right for the room, we'll say so.
