02 — Field Service
Measure twice, hang once, leave the room cleaner than we found it.
Our installers are Homestead employees, not subcontractors. The same team measures, plans, and hangs the treatments.
Field Service
How a Homestead install actually goes
Our installers are Homestead employees, not subcontractors. The same team measures, fabricates the install plan, and hangs the treatments, which is why our reorder rate is what it is.
The visible part is the hour or two when the installer is in the room. The invisible part is the planning that makes it look easy. We have spent fourteen years tightening it.
The Process
From proposal to guarantee
Field measure
Once you approve the proposal, we book a precise measure. Our installers measure the rough opening, the depth, the bracket clearance, and the obstacles (light fixtures, alarm sensors, casement cranks). Notes go straight to the manufacturer or our drapery workroom.
Lead time
Hunter Douglas typically runs 2 to 4 weeks for shades and shutters. Custom drapery from our workroom usually 4 to 6 weeks depending on fabric. Specialty shapes and motorized hardwired systems can run longer; we will be honest about it up front.
Install day
One arrival window, drop cloths in every room, and a careful pace. We test every cordless lift, every motor, every tilt before we leave, and we walk you through care and operation at the end.
Standing behind it
Hunter Douglas Lifetime Guarantee plus our own service program. If something goes wrong six months or six years later, you call us, not a 1-800 number.
